Where the West Meets the Wilderness.

. . . and Vacations Meet All Your expecations!

  More WagonWheel House Information

.........ever heard of TOO Much Information?

Me neither.

The Wagon Wheel House offers lots of privacy. Plenty of off-street parking for boats, campers or multiple cars. (parking at angle works best unless you need more for trailers, etc.)

No Neighbors!!  One side is an undeveloped, never to be devloped street right of way.

Rear is open slope down to concrete irrigation ditch,

Other side past the attached 2 car garage is OUR storage shed, then the adjoining property's garden which is ten ft (10' ) lower with view blocked by a tall & thick Lilac Hedge.

You're all alone and private with no one to hassle you!

No Parties and No Pets, however. Maximum Occupancy is 6 Adults and 2 Youths under 18.

We believe, and have been told repeatedly, that you will be hard pressed to find a better equipped Vacation Home. After all, it SHOULD be home to you while you are here. Our intention is to do this better than anyone. There is a suggestion book inside should you have ideas or complaints. We do care.

There are games, books and magazines to enjoy after a day of exploring. Enjoy 2 Roku TV's, both in GUEST MODE, and with hi-speed WiFi you can access all your Netflix, Amazon, Hulu Accounts, etc. Your personal information will disappear when you check out. Cell service is spotty at the House, so in case you don't do internet calling on your phone, there is a VOIP phone that you can use to call anywhere in the nation...and give the number out to family or friends that might need to call you.

We do not hover. Unless there is an emergency, we will not enter your space. We can be reached through text or phone call as well as the messaging system of Airbnb or VRBO anytime you need anything. We love to meet our guests when we are in the area. Information, contact numbers and House Rules are clearly laid out and available inside the House.

This 3BR/2Ba home is over 1650 sf with lots of room for lounging and privacy. The entire House is yours to enjoy. The Master Suite boasts a separate Executive kitchen (sink, hot plate, toaster, coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator). The Main Kitchen is well stocked for cooking and baking including basic spices....and, of course, COFFEE. Speaking of coffee, we supply filtered water to make the taste the best it can be. There's also a propane grill out on the patio.

There are 2 full size refrigerators if you want to stock up at the Wea Market(Conoco CC) and just hang out for a day or two. You won’t believe what they have to offer!!!! The Wea Market is a great place to pick up all the supplies you need, it sells fresh produce, propane, Hunting and Fishing licenses....Everything!!

Each bedroom has a ceiling fan. We don not have A/C personally and, actually, don't know anyone in town that does. Nonetheless, for those very few heated days, there is a 'whole house' swamp cooler in the Great Room and a smaller unit in each bedroom. (evaporative coolers, technically)

The nights are cool and brisk and all windows are secured in various ways so you can leave them open......and probably need a light blanket. Thom grew up in SC and we both understand Heat & Humidity! (Why do you think we live here?) Often flatlanders (affectionate term) don't quite understand the difference 6,000 feet above sea level makes in temperature fluctuations.

But........you'll LOVE IT as you experience it.

Fall & Winter guests will also really LOVE the natural gas baseboard heat! Encompasses you with solid warmth....again, without that humidity to cut through all your layers of clothes.

Downtown Meeteetse is a quaint western town with a lot of history. It’s an easy walk.

We boast 2 Museums, complete with a full size Grizzly Bear, and fun facts about the once-thought-extinct Black Footed Ferret! >>>>But they were discovered living outside of Town!

The Cowboy Bar & Outlaw Parlor are 129 years old, complete with 48 Bullet Holes! It’s the only place Butch Cassidy was ever arrested. It also serves maybe the BEST Pizza you’ve ever had.

The Elkhorn Bar & Grill sports namesake huge Elk Mounts and even a full size original Wyoming Wolf. (The ones the Government introduced are MUCH larger.) It also has a Drive Thru Window for food and beverages (even Alcoholic). Menu varies, but always good. You can actually get a mixed drink to go, when they seal if for you!!

Bronco Nell’s Ice Cream Soda Shop is pure fun. Antiques there, too.

The Meeteetse Chocolatier is World Famous.

Shop for Antiques Galore Cowboy Story Antiques and really classic old treasures at Latigo & Lace

You might get to witness a Cattle Drive right through Downtown. Certainly, you’ll see some REAL Cowboys that actually do use Horses for their chores. Seriously.

There is a Formal Shooting Range out at the Rodeo Grounds, just South out of town, if you need to tune in your favorite firearm.

There are games, books and magazines to enjoy after a day of exploring. Enjoy 2 Roku TV's, both in GUEST MODE, and with hi-speed WiFi you can access all your Netflix, Amazon, Hulu Accounts, etc. Your personal information will disappear when you check out.

They can supply kayak, paddle board, cross country skis and boots and/or snowshoes.   Seriously......Meeteetse has it all!

This area is so charming that even the famous aviator Amelia Earhart was building a cabin in these parts (at Kirwin) when she tragically disappeared. (You can go and see the site. = no cabin)

Miles and miles of hiking trails await along the Wood River, which is also a Blue Ribbon trout fishing stream, as is the Greybull River. In winter, Hunting, Ice Fishing and Cross Country skiing are popular pastimes. If Ice Fishing is your thing……..you need to check by often. Big Derby every year!

Fully equipped 4x4 vehicles and Side-by-Sides can be rented for exploring the gravel roads of the Shoshone National Forest located just a few miles down the road or go all the way to Kirwin Ghost Town. PLUS !!!! Attention Hunters - Check this OUT! How 'bout a Cleaning SHED!!!

A secure (door can be locked) 14' x 16' metal building on the property for storing/processing/hanging meat, etc. - complete with small A/C for use on warmer days. Heated hose for washing up OUTSIDE. Now, it's even fully Spray Foam Insulated!! It's not a full blown freezer room, but it is much better than nothing.

There's also a full-size 32" Upright Freezer with Frozen Gallon Jugs of water for game cavity cooling after a harvest!  No point in trying to take back meat that hasn't been kept cool!

Bring a jacket. Dress in layers because the nights and early mornings are wonderfully cool. The weather changes fast, Meeteetse is almost 6,000 feet in elevation and the trip to Kirwin will take you to 9,200 feet. Literally, I’ve seen bright sunshine, clouds and snow- and back again- all within One Hour.

Sunscreen is a MUST, at this elevation the sun is very strong.

Don't forget your camera and binoculars. No telling what you might come across in these Rocky Mountains. Hikers must have bear spray and know how to use it. Guns don't hurt either.

Grizzlies are alive and well in these parts. This is not a Marketing Ploy!!
